Chendeti Community Based Organization-Matete

Chendeti, a local organization in Western Kenya, and its team serve communities affected by jiggers (on toes, fingers, and other body parts), conduct house fumigation, and eradicate bedbugs. These interventions enable children to attend school and parents to engage in work. The organization also proclaims the Gospel of Jesus, witnessing many confessions of faith. Furthermore, Chendeti has built houses and latrines for vulnerable families.

The leader of Chendeti seeks partnership to combat jiggers and bedbugs, aiming to alleviate suffering in affected communities. The organization’s core mission is to share the Gospel, recognizing that meeting physical needs is essential to this endeavor. Based in Western Kenya, with most affected communities near Mount Elgon, Chendeti has served four communities this year, with approximately 30 more requesting help. However, the organization is hindered by limited access to required supplies and transportation. Volunteers currently rely on motorcycles, which become tiring over long distances, making missions costly. Despite these constraints, Chendeti is thankful for the visible positive changes in the lives of community members.
