Biography
As one of the pioneers of the South African Animal Rights movement, Louise van der Merwe has devoted her life’s work to calling attention to the suffering we impose on animals, and has systematically worked towards a programme for the development and nurturing of empathy in the everyday learning experience.
Why I support the Compassion Coalition
We joined to become part of a movement that has the potential to reach farther and wider than we can. As Doctor Hanson says: “An opportunity to connect with other like-minded people and organizations at a scale that can be big enough to be strong enough to change the world.”
