Biography

As Stanford University Emerita, I was among the pioneers in translating academic research into practical knowledge and transformational strategies for students, staff and faculty to their enhance their well-being. For two decades, I developed programs and taught applied positive psychology and contemplative practice for Stanford School of Medicine, Wellness Education Programs, and Stanford Continuing Studies. Now in semi-retirement, my abiding mission is to activate the power of compassion, resilience, and life meaning to bring joy and healing within us and for our world. I continue to teach for professional organizations, retreat centers and for special interest groups. As a long-time Enneagram student, I integrate those teachings into my 15 year transformational coaching practice.

Why I support the Compassion Coalition

As a founding member of GCC, I’m excited to join with others to create conditions that foster compassion, joy, and climate health in a complex and ever-more demanding world. Together, we will create powerful systemic change to heal and strengthen the beauty of our planet, and our communities.
