Biography

Nathan Consedine is a Professor of Health Psychology at the University of Auckland. Following his doctorate, he worked in ethnogerontology and psychosocial health for a decade before returning to the study of emotions in applied settings. He has published more than 180 scientific papers and routinely reviews for international journals. His current work is focused on the challenges confronting compassion in healthcare settings.

Why I support the Compassion Coalition

Although my research is focused on compassion in healthcare, compassion is a systemic problem and requires systemic thinking and solutions. Establishing connections with others who value compassion in different areas of life is a necessary precursor to any real, sustainable change.
