Maria is a Colombian contemplative instructor and therapist. She is a Senior Teacher and Teacher Trainer of the Compassion Cultivation Program developed at the Centre for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University and a trained teacher of the Mindful Self-Compassion program.

Compassion amidst the chaos
The latest escalation of hostilities in Gaza and Israel has unleashed a world of pain which can be very difficult to witness. And for those directly affected, it is difficult for us to conceive of the suffering they are experiencing. In this active compassion practice, hosted jointly with the Charter for Compassion, contemplative therapist Maria Paula Jimenez will hold the space to honor the pain that we are carrying as humanity and transform the suffering with compassion and love.
