Leaders eat last but breathe first

A guided meditation for educators

with Josh Way

Who is taking care of our caretakers? As mindfulness and self-care practices are finding their place in education, educators need to be comfortable with meditation and contemplative practices. This is especially important as educators are finding it difficult to lead to their fullest potential because of the unending scope of responsibilities, the break-neck pace of leading schools, and the uncertainty of the future of schooling. Meditation can help teachers address issues of burnout, create a more sustainable work-life balance, and find personal growth and fulfillment among the hustle and bustle of leading classrooms. This session will highlight the most up to date research-based challenges educators face and offer a simple guided, breath-awareness meditation that can help us work with the challenges unique to our work.
