Unmasking Trauma

A Journey to Healing

with Dr. Frank Anderson and Niki Petrocchi, Ph.D, Psy.D,

So many of us are carrying trauma - whether caused by a severe, one-off event or chronic experiences we’ve been subjected to. If we don’t acknowledge, understand, and address this, it can continue to have severe impacts on our wellbeing, health, and relationships. This conversation with trauma expert Dr Frank Anderson, chaired by Dr. Nicola Petrocchi, compassion-focused therapist, will explain what trauma is and how we can heal from it. Dr. Anderson will also share his personal experience with trauma, which he has written about in his latest book, To Be Loved: A Story of Truth, Trauma, and Transformation. The memoir takes the reader through his own journey of growing up gay in a traditional Italian American home that was fiercely loving and culturally close-knit, while at the same time unaccepting, abusive and riddled with shame and dark family secrets. Join us for this informative yet heartfelt talk to better understand how you too might leave your trauma in the past.
