The Connectors Keepie-Uppie Challenge

Quick summary

A global challenge to all Global Compassion Coalition Connectors to bring together as people as possible in one space at one time for a game of keepie-uppies.

How to play

In the week of November 13 – November 19, the GCC Connectors will be hosting our very own keepie-uppie challenge. How to participate:

  • Recruit as many people as possible.
  • Identify a good time and invite all participants to a convenient location during the week of Mon 13th – Sun 19th November.
  • Before starting, tell everyone a little bit about why compassion is so important. If you need a bit of inspiration, here’s some ideas.
  • Get them to play a game of keepie-uppies with a football, tennis ball – or any kind of appropriate sports ball. You can have them all play with their own ball, in groups, or as one large group with just one ball. Of course any method of keeping the ball “up” counts – whether it’s feet, hands, headers…or something else!
  • Send a photo or video with the number of those taking part to Matt on WhatsApp (join the GCC WhatsApp to do this) or by email to info@globalcompassioncoalition.org.

Why are we doing this?

Compassion is all about community and group work. It’s about bridging divides, bringing people together, and sharing in a common goal. By taking part in this challenge you’ll help to forge new connections and feel a part of a global activity.

There’s also an important symbolism in the keepie-uppie challenge. The truth is, we all play a vital role in supporting and helping one another – in keeping us all up. It’s important to find ways of remembering how interconnected we all are.
